Brandon McDonald has been starting at cornerback off and on for the past three seasons with the Browns. His days in Cleveland, looked to be numbered as the team added Sheldon Brown and drafted Joe Haden this offseason. He doesn’t have a guarenteed roster spot this season and needs to prove that he is better then what he has been the past two seasons with the club after a good rookie season.
Mangini praised Brandon Mcdonald for his off season work that he has done and it looks to be paying off now during Training Camp. The corner back has been a bright spot so far for this team during there camp this season. He intercepted a pass from Colt McCoy during yesterdays team scrimmaged and took it to the house to score the first touchdown of the day. McDonald has been playing with a chip on his shoulder so far this preseason. The corner back did do a flip into the end-zone which did not make Coach Mangini happy at all yesterday.
Brandon is trying to show he belongs on this team and can contribute for this year and years to come, who knows if he is going to make the team this year but he is sure making it difficult for the team to cut him. This preseason is going to make or break the Defensive Back from Memphis.
