Browns acquire Vikings DE Mitchell for a late 2012 pick

The Browns have a new player on the D-line, as today they acquired DE Jayme Mitchell for a late-round 2012 pick.

Mitchell, an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi, has progressed steadily since being signed by the Vikings in 2006.

So far this season, Mitchell has appeared in 2 games, notching a sack Week 1 against New Orleans.

However, with Brian Robison on-board and the team probably wanting to get more of a look at rookie Everson Griffen, Mitchell became expendable.

This looks like a roster clearing move for the Vikes — who are reportedly talking to the Pats to get Randy Moss.

I’m a Vikes fan and I wandered over here to check BrownsGab because I’m a HUGE Peyton Hillis fan.

I saw this post, and I just wanted to let any readers know that from my experience watching Mitchell the past few years, this kid is a solid DE. The only reason we didn’t keep him is because of the developmental potential of E. Griffin. Mitchell will be a good player for you guys if he gets a chance.
