Roethlisberger was once in a similar position as McCoy….

Big Ben was once in McCoy’s position playing a lot faster then expected. Injuries happen in the NFL and that’s what put Ben into the Squeelers starting line-up. Well the same is for McCoy and lets hope he can do what Big Ben has done.(Outside of raping women and being a prick.)

“He’s in for a heck of a rivalry,” said Roethlisberger via conference call.  “Coming into Hines Field, it’s going to be quite an experience for him.  Being from Texas and the Big 12, he’s had some great rivalries playing against Oklahoma.  I’m sure the crowd won’t overwhelm him, but he’s going to get to experience really quick what an AFC North rivalry is like.”

“I remember my first start being fast,” said Roethlisberger.  “It was pretty much just a blur for me.

“It’s always tough to start on the road. The thing I would say to him is to just be patient and let the game come to him.”

We said the same thing about Frye. “gee, what a great rivalry this will be! Two MAC QBs.” Frye stunk it up per the norm in Cleveland. McCoy will be the 17th…yes, SEVENTEENTH…staring QB since 1999. Browns performance during this time has given me no reason for optimism.

Oddly enough, most of the QBs during this time usually had a weapon or two to throw to but no line to protect them. Now, we have a line but no weapons! *sigh*

And . . . when Roethlisberger took the field he had a line, RB and WRs to work with. I know Pittsburgh will love him if they win, but I gotta a hard time with a guy with the human pig tendencies that Big Ben apparently has — what look to be some deeply-rooted woman hater issues. It is kinda like the “ick factor” when seeing him around. Stabler had some of the same issues, as I recall.
