Harrison’s hits on Cribbs and Massaquoi Dirty?

Two Browns playmakers were knocked out of today’s 18-point loss to the Steelers, WR Josh Cribbs and WR Mohamed Massaquoi. Both hits came from Steelers LB James Harrison, and already there’s chatter about a fine coming his way for the two hits.

“I don’t know his inside thoughts, but I thought the one deserved a penalty,” Peyton Hillis said of the hits.

Neither hit drew a penalty, and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin felt that Harrison’s actions were just fine. “Legal hits. Not fineable hits. He played good football,” Tomlin said.

So the question is – what do you think of the hits? Should Harrison be fined, or even looked at for a possible suspension?

Cribbs hit? 92 goes in head down, not heads up, arms out, like he’s trying to make a tackle, but more like a heat seeking missle – but it isn’t any dirtier than the shot Jordan Shipley took in the end zone in Cleveland a few weeks back. there was a blocker and another defender in the mix, hard to say you could line up a shot like that through 2 other guys on 4.2 speed guy like Cribbs when you’re closing at 4.6 speed yourself. just a matter of 6 inches one way or another.

The other hit on Massaquoi? he had the ball, he heard footsteps, he looked up and dropped the ball and got pasted – that’s what you get when you go over the middle. pure and simple, that’s why only real men go over the middle – Steve Smith (Carolina) and Hines Ward come to mind – that’s also why Chad Ocho-tu-tu never goes over the middle without strapping on his alligator arms.

I am sick of this dirty play directed to the Browns especially from the dirtiest team in the NFL the Pigsburgh Squealers. This bozo needs to be suspended and fined. I hate these damn squealers they think they are above the rules. Now Benny, he is way above the rules. Does whatever he did to the young lady and nearly gets away with it. Something to laugh and brag about with his beers and his queer friends. Does their coach have any clue what football means? I can’t wait until we meet up with them again. Maybe they better bring their wheelchairs with them to Cleveland. Let’s send invitations that say BYOWC!

Sick of them, absolutely sick of them. At least whoever picked out their uniforms sure did a great job. They SUCK for sure! They say they are gold and black. LOL, LOL, LOL. They are yellow which so suits them.

I love it when the Steelers get under the skin of the Browns or their fans. It’s great. Now if the Browns were to constantly field a competitive team, that would be legitimate. When another team, particularly one within the same division does the same, favoritism must come into play. I love it. Scapegoating and projecting fault/blame at it’s best. If the Steelers weren’t winning, they wouldn’t be targeted for such fanatical critisism. I’m glad the Steelers are critiqued so harshly. LOL Janet you’re funny.

LivininCin, As a Steelers fan, I appreciate and agree with your educated comments.

Janet, Really? How can you expect anyone to take you or your comments seriously. Let me tell you something about this rivalry. When the Browns were stolen from Cleveland every Steeler fan felt the pain of the city of Cleveland. We love to beat you, as I am sure on those few occasions that it actually does happen, you love to beat us.
Make an attempt to stay on topic here.

The hits that James Harrison makes on every play of every game are extremely hard, fast and violent. They are supposed to be. That is what he is payed to do and he is one of the NFL’s best defensive players. Are the hits illegal? Where were the flags on the field for those hits?

Fines after the fact for hits deemed legal on the field are ridiculous.

Janet how would you like it if McDonalds took away some of your paycheck for working the drivethrough window like they told you to?
    Wouldnt be fair, would it?

As far as hating Pittsburgh and the Steelers, thats fine. Your lack of football education hatred keeps us warm, just like the glow of our 6 Lombardi trophies does.

As far as Benny goes, did you see any proof that Ben did what he was accused of doing? No you didnt, neither did the police and thats why there was no case and no charges filed but he was suspended for 4 games for going against the NFL’s conduct policy.

You want to talk about being above the rules, have you seen the pictures of Brett Favre’s little 4 incher?

    Where is the justice?

I am absolutely loving that this blog is entitled “Browns Gab” and everyone here is a Steeler fan bahahahahaha!! Well, with the obvious exception of Janet … but her opinion hardly counts. Janet, you are exactly why men think women don’t know anything about football. Could you please know something before you decide to express you’re ridiculous views next time? Maybe you should join a blog for like cross-stitching or something like that? But, back to the matter at hand … I, too, think it’s utter nonsense for a player to be fined for an “illegal” hit when there was no penalty on the play during the game. I mean if that’s the case, why bother with referees at all? I mean they’re only right there, within five feet of the play?? But, yes, please play, and replay, the footage to a bunch of suits that probably never even played the game so they can decide it was “dirty”. And I would just like to point out that while EVERYONE seems to be talking about the hit on Joshua Cribbs, Harrison was actually fined for his hit on Massaquoi that actually cost him the $75,000. Even the NFL deemed the hit on Cribbs legal. The Browns and their fans are seriously just a bunch of sore losers. I don’t understand why either because you would figure by now, they would be used to it. Oh and Janet, BYOWC??? Really? You are one delusional chick!! The Browns are pushing their luck hoping for a win against the Steelers (the stats speak for themselves stupid), so I’d ease up on the wheelchair talk sweetheart. It just makes you look pathetic. GO STEELERS!!!

  8. Chris says:

Just looked at the clip and you gotta be kidding me. We know what happened. We all saw it happen. But this clip is awful.

It’s like when we get those security camera films of robberies on the TV news. We’re supposed to see what the guy in the blue shirt does and yet the only way you can tell there’s a guin a blue shirt is because they anchor says so.

Same here. The shot is pulled so far back you can see where Harrison MAY have gone head to head with Cribbs. But the distance means you can’t really be sure of it. Surely there’s footage that tells the tale better than this clip does.

  9. Tony says:

Im neither a Browns NOR Steelers fan, but that shit was illegal. But because you Shittsburghians are biased, you’re all retarded.

@Janet I agree, Shittsburgh is the dirtiest team in the NFL. Their QB is a rapist, what does that tell you?

  10. James says:

    Tony,
When you are finished on fries, take over on the drive through window for Janet…
