What I would do with the Quarterback situation…..

If I was Coach Mangini, heading into the game next week against the Patriots, I would start Seneca Wallace. Wallace won the game against the Bengals and has shown he can be productive in the offense. You know what you are getting in the Quarterback from Iowa State and it could be enough to have an opportunity to get a victory against the Pats. I like McCoy and love what he has done for the Browns the two games he has played. He has managed the two games very nicely that he has played in. Colt could be the Quarterback of the future and we need to see more of him but not against the Patriots next week at the Stadium. McCoy should get an opportunity later in the season, but should still be on the sidelines learning the ropes of the NFL. Delhomme is needed on the team for his leadership and when healthy he has shown he can be pretty good. We can’t live with the Interceptions with Delhomme the next two games and that is why I would play him as the backup with McCoy going back to the third QB for the time being. I know not a lot of people will agree with me, but I think that is the best thing for the Browns this season and for Colt McCoy in his rookie season. Go Browns!!! Destination Super Bowl!!!!!

Start Seneca. Sit Delhomme. McCoy is the back-up. It is what it is.

I can go along with your program, Deno. I love Seneca’s skill set and he’s done pretty well for us. Nothing earth-shaking but he’s been plenty presentable. Give McCoy some more bench time to compare what he sees with what he experienced. If Seneca gets hurt again and we need McCoy to step up the second time, we’ll be in a more comfortable position than we put our presumptive future out there and got him shelved. I’d have no problem with going McCoy the rest of the year either but I can certainly see the value of going back to Seneca. Just tell me that Delhomme’s going to retire and become a QB coach once the season’s over.
