Cleveland Browns Jerseys

A chat with Jetsgab editor Chris Cipriano….

The Jets haven’t been playing that good as of late, what is the issue in New York?

It’s been a combination of things. They have been sloppy with ball turning it over 8 times in their past three games after turning it over once in their first five games. Also they have been racking up a ton of penalties against them compiling 24 penalties for 228 yards in that span.

What advantages do the Jets have going into the game against the Cleveland Browns?
The Jets have an advantage with their passing game. The Browns have been giving up 240 yards in the air per game and the Jets have a talented group of receivers that need to take advantage of that. Also, the Jets should have the advantage defending the pass as well. The Browns don’t have any receiver that your going to stay up at night worrying about (not including Josh Cribbs who doesn’t really have a position per-say). Plus Darrelle Revis look to be back to 100 percent.
Braylon Edwards has been talking a lot of trash this week, what type of game do you expect him to have on Sunday?
Braylon has certainly been talking a big game. Now he has to back it up. I wouldn’t expect a monster game, but 60 yards and a touchdown seems about right. And no dropped passes.
What worries you about facing the Cleveland Browns?
You have to start with Peyton Hillis. This guy has taken the league by storm and even though the Jets have had success against the run, he still worries me. Also you forget about Josh Cribbs. He’s a threat to do something special every time he touches the ball. The Browns use him in a variety of ways and the Jets must keep tabs on him at all times.
What is your Prediction and why?
I’m gonna be a homer and take the Jets 24-20. It will be a tough game, but after seeing the Browns take down the Patriots last week I think the Jets are going to come into to Cleveland prepared and ready to play.

The Jets will be prepared, you can be sure. Neither Ryan is not going to lose to the other Ryan — especially if you have to relive that wig for the entire off-season. Cleveland has far more to prove and far more at stake — from coaching to players. Braylon’s ego is simply amazing. Here is a team made up of a lot of Jets ustabees; Bowens, Elam, Stucki come to immediate mind. Then, of course, there is the Mangini history. A lot of these Jets are Mangini’s drafts. Mangold, Ferguson, Reevis, are all Mangini picks. Belichik did not become the coach he did until after he failed at Cleveland. Mangini did not even fail, but you can see what a solid foundation he built with the Jets. But Braylon actually thinks it is all about him. What a laugh. Braylon is just a minor sideshow, as I see it — like the little dog that barks in a high shrill whine. If I were Cleveland’s DBs, I would be working extra hard to slap that dog hard.
