Mistaken Identity Doesn’t Deter TE Jordan Cameron

Southern Cal tight end Jordan Cameron waited more than two days for his name to be called during this year’s NFL Draft, but he didn’t get that call, even after he was selected in the fourth round by the Cleveland Browns, someone else got the call. The Browns notified the player they believed was Jordan Cameron, but got someone else but it’s hard to believe a team could make that mistake, one that usually is researched, checked and double-checked as often as team’s do during the draft.

When the Browns got through to the player they contacted, they found out he was Cameron Jordan and not Jordan Cameron, they reached him at the New Orleans Saints practice facility in Metairie, La. Jordan, a defensive end from Cal, told the Browns that he already was drafted in the first round by the Saints and that they probably want Jordan Cameron, the tight end from Southern Cal. Jordan, the defensive end, had been off the board for two days. So, the Browns should have known this and when they finally got in touch with Jordan Cameron the tight end, he was thrilled to finally get called.
