Browns Post Game Notes Following Loss to the Ravens

  • · Rookie defensive lineman Jabaal Sheard recorded a career-high nine tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. He now has a team-leading 5.5 sacks on the season, which ties linebacker Chip Banks (1982) for the third-most by a Browns rookie in a single-season since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. Sheard now has a team-best five forced fumbles this year, which are the most by any Cleveland player since the club returned in 1999. Entering the game, Sheard was tied for second in the NFL with four forced fumbles. He has recorded a sack and a forced fumble in each of the last three games. Sheard is the first Brown to record a sack in three straight games since linebacker Kamerion Wimbley in 2009 and first Browns rookie to register a sack in three straight since linebacker Alex Hall in 2008.
  • · Linebacker D’Qwell Jackson recorded a season-best 12 tackles and leads the club with 112 this season. Entering the game he ranked tied for fourth in the NFL in tackles.
  • · Tight end Evan Moore registered two receptions for 28, including a 22-yard touchdown. He has three receiving scores on the season.
  • · Rookie wide receiver Greg Little recorded three receptions for 18 yards. Little leads the team this season with 50 receptions and 513 receiving yards. He passed Derrick Alexander (48 in 1994) for the fourth-most receptions by a Browns rookie. Little entered the game leading all NFL rookies in receptions this season.
  • · Running back Peyton Hillis led the Browns with 45 rushing yards and added a career-long 52 yard reception. His previous career long catch was 47 yards, which he accomplished twice.
  • · Ravens running back Ray Rice rushed for 204 yards. He is the first player to rush for 200 yards against the Browns since Willie Parker totaled 223 for the Steelers on December 7, 2006.
  • · Raven’s corner Lardarius Webb’s 68-yard punt return for a score was the first punt returned for a touchdown against the Browns since Nate Burleson returned one 94 yards for the Seahawks on November 4, 2007.
  • · Running back Chris Ogbonnaya tied a career-high with five receptions. It marked the third game this season in which he totaled five receptions.
  • · Linebacker Benjamin Jacobs and defensive lineman Brian Sanford made their NFL regular season debuts. Each player was signed from the team’s practice squad on Tuesday.
  • · Defensive back Sheldon Brown has played in 156 consecutive regular season games, a figure which currently ranks sixth among all active defensive players.
  • · Offensive lineman Joe Thomas has started and played in each of the first 76 games of his career.
  • · Defensive lineman Jayme Mitchell notched his first career fumble recovery today.
  • · Punter Brad Maynard recorded two punts inside the 20 yard line today and has 20 on the season with zero touchbacks.
  • · The 290 rushing yards for the Ravens today were the most allowed by a Browns team since Pittsburgh rushed for 303 yards on December 7, 2006.
