Browns Won’t Look to Trade for Packers WR James Jones

Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain-Dealer mentions that the Browns do not interest in pursuing Packers WR James Jones, who has been rumored to be on the trading block in recent weeks. Cabot adds that Cleveland will not be signing Plaxico Burress, Terrell Owens, and Braylon Edwards and instead, plans to go with Mohamed Massaquoi and Greg Little next season. As for the Packers, they appear to be stuck with Jones. His contract certainly isn’t the main issue in regards to the lack of interest in trading for him. Last year, when he was a free agent, Jones found very little interest on the open market.

Hrmm… they say that they want to build through the draft. They refuse to show interest in free agents. They don’t even re-sign some of their high-priced free agents (like Hillis). They drafted a WR and signed 3 more to undrafted free agent contracts.

I’m completely stunned that the Browns don’t want to add another WR to their payroll.
