RB Richardson Has Surgery to Clean Up Left Knee

Browns RB Trent Richardson had arthroscopic surgery today to clean up his left knee, the same knee that he had surgery on prior to the draft.

“Trent Richardson underwent a successful routine arthroscopic procedure today on his left knee. It was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla,” coach Pat Shurmur said. “We anticipate that Trent will make a speedy recovery, and we are hopeful that he will be ready for our Week One game against Philadelphia.”

Richardson is expected to miss a couple weeks, but should be ready to go when the team lines up opening day vs the Eagles at home as Shurmur expressed.

For now, Montario Hardesty will be the teams starter for their game on Friday night against the Lions.

So we get to see a healthy Hardesty. This can only be a good thing. He was, after all, a second round pick. Let’s see what the guy can do. Two strong backs — add Brandon Jackson for three strong backs — is not a bad thing, I should think.
