Cribbs Spouts Off on Replacement Refs – “The Integrity of the Game is Now is Question”

Browns WR/KR Josh Cribbs was not shy about talking about the replacement refs from Monday’s disputed game in Seattle between the Packers and Seahawks.

Tuesday in Berea, Cribbs said that the game is taking a downhill spiral with the way that the replacement refs are calling the games.

“Of course my call was an interception, at the same time, that’s why they tell the DB’s to knock the ball down so nothing crazy can happen,” Cribbs said. “I disagree with the call of the simultaneous ruling, I feel like they are just covering up for the refs. I feel like the NFL is messing with the integrity of the game, not having the best refs out there. There’s a lot being decided on the games with something like that.”

The end of the Packers-Seahawks game has been on the headlines of newspapers, as well as the lead on a lot of shows today that don’t even focus on football like ‘Good Morning America.’

Cribbs says that everyone, players and coaches, have had to deal with the issues surrounding the calls of the refs.

“Everybody has to deal with the same thing, so I do too,” Cribbs said. “It’s not that I am crying over it, its simply I disagree with it, I disagree with the call last night. A lot of people do that’s why it’s on ESPN and everywhere. It was a bad call. They are only human, but it shows you we don’t have the best refs out there – we have the best players, not the best refs.”

For now, the Browns have yet to be affected by bad calls, but you know that there’s always that chance, it just so happens that the call from Monday night cost the Packers.

“I think the integrity of the game is now is question,” Cribbs said.
