Could QB Rex Grossman Wind Up With Shanahan In Cleveland?

There has been a lot of speculation about a possible trade for Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins now that former Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has been hired as the new OC of the Browns.

Now rumors are flying that free agent quarterback Rex Grossman could also be a Browns target according to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland.

Grossman has spent the past five seasons-one in Houston with the Texans, the other four in Washington-with Kyle Shanahan and is known as a good teacher of Shanahan’s offensive philosophy.

Grossman would certainly not a candidate to start in Cleveland or anywhere else in 2014 but could be competently paired with a rookie QB and possible/probable hold over Brian Hoyer. He could prove to be an excellent mentor for the next Browns starting QB.
