The Cowboys lost a potential backup quarterback candidate when Nick Foles signed with the Kansas City Chiefs Wednesday evening, and are looking for a backup QB with losing Kellen Moore to a broken ankle on Tuesday.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports the Cowboys are now moving to trade options and at the top of that list is Browns quarterback Josh McCown. But sources say the Browns are reluctant to let him go.

McCown spoke at Browns camp on Thursday, and while he said that he grew up a Cowboys fan, he’s happy with being with the Browns and is excited about the team in 2016.

McCown is likely going to start the season behind RGIII as the backup at the QB position, but that doesn’t mean the Browns should just give him up for nothing at this point.

The Browns take on the Redskins in the preseason opener next week, and don’t forget to grab this bonus code for Bet365 and put your stake on the game as the Browns look to reverse their 3-13 season from 2015.
