Former Baylor coach Art Briles is serving a guest stint with the Cleveland Browns, and coach Hue Jackson believes that giving him a second chance is the right thing to do, Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer reports.
Briles was on the practice field Wednesday in Browns garb Wednesday, specifically focusing on the quarterbacks during the period open to the media.
Jackson, who invited Briles to help out, will “pick his brains” on offense and several times referred to him as a “tremendous offensive mind.”
He said Briles will be here for a while, but not a long time. He cleared Briles’ presence with the Browns’ higher-ups.
Briles was fired by Baylor amid the sexual assault scandal involving student-athletes, but maintains his innocence. He told cleveland.com in August he hopes to be back in coaching by December.
