The firings just keep coming in Berea, as not only has head coach Hue Jackson been shown the door, the Browns have also fired first-year offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

Haley was around for just eight games of the regular season, helping the team reach a 2-5-1 record, but the offense has been going backwards the last few weeks, including during the latest three-game losing streak to the Chargers, Bucs and Steelers.
The Browns hired Haley on January 24th, bringing him over after he was fired in the offseason from the Steelers, where he had great success leading Ben Roethlisberger and company to a number of playoff appearances.
There was quite a bit of conflict between Haley and Jackson, some of which was documented this offseason during the teams’ series on ‘Hard Knocks.’
Right away Haley wanted to have first overall pick Baker Mayfield in the starting lineup, but Jackson wanted to have veteran Tyrod Taylor in as the starter.
As things would go, Mayfield was put in the lineup in week three when Taylor went down with a concussion.
After the loss in Tampa after a sluggish first half, Jackson said after the game that he would have more input in the offense, leading to many to think there was going to be even more issues within the coaching staff and Haley and Jackson.
Haley came out this last week, stating that he and Jackson were ‘on the same page.’
Instead of getting better, the Browns offense was awful in Pittsburgh, scoring one TD after a muffed free kick after a safety and a number of penalties, and another in garbage time in the final seconds of the teams’ 33-18 loss.
The Browns offense was ranked 18th in yards after Sunday’s loss, 22nd in yards per game (357.4), 24th in passing yards per game (222.4), 9th in rush yards per game (127.4), and 24th in points per game (21.1).
