The Browns will be minus starting safety Damarious Randall on Sunday when they take on the Steelers at Heinz Field, but it’s not due to injury or the death threats he received after the first game between the biter AFC North foes.
Randall was left behind when the Browns headed for Pittsburgh Saturday, and reports say that it’s a ‘coaching decision’ as to why he didn’t head the 90 miles to Pittsburgh.
A league source said the decision is not related to the death threats Randall received from Steelers fans after he hit helmet-to-helmet that left rookie receiver Dontae Johnson concussed when the teams met at First Energy Stadium a few weeks back.
Sheldrick Redwine is listed as Randall’s backup, and likely will get the start at the free safety spot with Randall back in Cleveland.
