Although the Browns picked up a new place kicker in the off-season, relying upon an arena guy in Cleveland is pretty risky. Phil has been better than average among kickers in the league, especially last year down the stretch beginning with that long zinger to win the game in Buffalo. But without knowing what Dawson's demands are, I'm certainly not prepared to call upon the Team to meet those at any price.

Even if the police evidence confirms marijuana in Donte's system at the time of the accident, I still believe that Jim Brown should not have commented on that until it is confirmed or was acknowledged by Stallworth or someone on his behalf. I have no difficulty with Jim's other comments during the same interview.

I think the AFC North will be the most competitive this year that it has been in a while. What I mean by that is I think the Teams will be more bunched together in terms of the standings, with as few as 4 wins separating first from last.

Unfortunately, notwithstanding my appreciation for the eternal optimism that this website puts forth, I don't see the standings turning out the way you have predicted. I still think the Steelers and the Ravens will battle for first while the Browns and the Bengals will battle for third.

We shouldn't underestimate the fact of him being around the pros all his life, and having the coaching he's had from dad. If they don't baby him in training camp and he gets a little toughened up, he'll surprize lots. I look for him to get better every week and do very well.
But I'm just getting more and more opto-mystic
as we roll on here.
go browns!

As I said a few weeks ago, I could see this happening, or something very much like it. The key word is coould, as in the NFL as in LIFE, you just never know. But i wouldn't file this under stranger things have happened; there's just always that stuff nobody anticipates.
I see the steelers being 12-4 as idiotic, myself. But hey, like they say, Zhit happens.

depending on a rookie WR is not something i would be to pumped about. its very rare for that to work out the only rookie WR in recent memory to have a great impact was desean Jackson many rookie WRs that didn't have an impact would include Sweed, C. Johnson's 1st year, Ted Gin, and our friend Braylon edwards.....I think the Robiskie hype is just that.....hype, lets see what he can do when he had AFC north DBs on him like ed reed and troy Polumalu, in the raven and steelers 3-4 the safties cover the number 2 and 3 WR sometimes to cause confusion b/c their CBs and ISLs MLBs are athledic enough to cover both TEs on short routes on WRs in a zone. Even in man coverage the pittsuke and ratbirds CBs can cover extremly well.

Edwards is the number one. Robiskie will be the number two. The Team is likely hoping that Edwards will run deeper routes to stretch the defense which will open up shorter patterns for Brian.
