Mary Kay Cabot, beatwriter for the Plain Dealer, has reproted that Browns Corner Joe Haden has hired a new agent.
That agent? Drew Rosenhaus, a high-powered, egotistical maniac, who represents the league’s biggest egos. Terrelle Pryor, Terrell Owens, Lance Briggs, Chad Ochocinco, Frank Gore and Tommie Harris are all Rosenhaus clients.
Rosenhaus is the kind of agent that makes the skin of most NFL front offices crawl. He demands the most money for his clients, whether they’re worthy of the mega-millions or not, and if he doesn’t get his way, he’ll find a team that will pay his client the contract he deserves.
This could be exceptionally damning for Browns fans, President Holmgren, and GM Savage. If the team can’t turn things around by the time Haden’s contract is up, you can expect Rosenahus to try and convince Haden to sign with a title contender if the Browns don’t value the star corner the way he does.
Since his NFL debut last season, Haden has become a fan-favorite in the city of Cleveland. He’s slowly starting to become noticed by the media as a lockdown corner in the NFL, and has been spoken in the same manner in which Jets star CB Darrelle Reevis. Reevis is considered the top lockdown corner in the NFL.
Haden has recorded 77 total tackes (68 solo), 2 sacks, 6 interceptions and 26 passes defended in just 21 games for the Browns. He has only been scored on once this year and that came on a fluke play by the Bengals in the first game of the year.
Nothing official has been announced.
